SEA LIFE TRUST 24-hour Global Clean-Up

Each year at the SEA LIFE TRUST, we organise our global beach and water way clean up inviting friends from around the world to sign up and take part. It is estimated that 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the world’s oceans each year and that by 2050, the oceans could have more plastic in them than fish.

On 17th September 2026, hundreds of dedicated volunteers across the globe rolled up their sleeves to take part in this year’s 24-Hour Global Clean-Up. Over the course of the day, 957 volunteers from 45 different locations came together with one shared mission, to help protect our oceans and waterways.

Together, we removed a fantastic 3,158 kilograms (6,962 pounds) of litter from natural environments. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work as a global community.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, whether you hosted an event, volunteered your time, or helped spread the word. Your efforts are making a real difference in tackling marine pollution.
