SEA LIFE TRUST 24-hour Global Clean-Up

Each year at the SEA LIFE TRUST, we organise our global beach and water way clean up inviting friends from around the world to sign up and take part. It is estimated that 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the world’s oceans each year and that by 2050, the oceans could have more plastic in them than fish.

On 5th June 2025, hundreds of dedicated volunteers across the globe rolled up their sleeves to take part in this year’s 24-Hour Global Clean-Up. Over the course of the day, 994 volunteers from 39 different locations came together with one shared mission, to help protect our oceans and waterways.

Together, we removed a fantastic 2,216 kilograms (4,885 pounds) of litter from natural environments. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work as a global community.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, whether you hosted an event, volunteered your time, or helped spread the word. Your efforts are making a real difference in tackling marine pollution.
